Sompraz 40 tablet is used for the treatment of acid reflux disease, stomach and intestinal ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It contains esomeprazole as its active ingredient. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by excessive stomach acid production due to tumours in the pancreas. Esomeprazole works by lowering the acid production in the stomach. This medicine should be taken in doses and duration as advised by the doctor or pharmacist. It should preferably be taken on an empty stomach. Do not miss any dose or take it more often than your doctor prescribes.
