Elsenz paste contains a fluoride containing bioactive glass called BioMinF that puts back lost minerals from tooth enamel and helps prevent tooth decay and care sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity is the condition of a short, sharp pain experienced on consumption of hot or cold food or beverages. The outermost layer of our tooth is enamel, covering the crown of tooth, the cementum covers the root of the tooth and dentine is the inner layer. Tooth sensitivity is caused when the tooth enamel wears away and the dentine is exposed. There are several ways in which tooth enamel can wear away, thereby exposing the dentine, leaving the tooth prone to sensitivity.

Fluoro calcium phosphosilicate present in it is an improved form of bioactive glass. It forms acid resistant fluorapatite and releases fluoride over a period of 8 – 12 hours. This combined action of apatite formation and ion release makes this unique toothpaste to use for remineralization.
