Allegra 180mg tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis and urticaria like watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, itching, sneezing and hives. Allergic rhinitis is an allergic response to allergy-producing substances like pollen, dust or mould. It irritates the nose/throat and causes symptoms like sneezing, wheezing, etc. Allergic rhinitis is a common condition that affects an individual’s quality of life and, if left untreated, may contribute to other conditions like asthma, otitis media and sinusitis. Allegra tablet contains fexofenadine as the active ingredient. It works by blocking the effect of a substance called histamine, which is responsible for producing an allergic reaction in the body. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Your doctor may advise you to preferably take Allegra tablet at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not take this medicine if allergic to any of its components. Allegra tablets should not be used in children below the age of 12. You should be cautious while driving after taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
